Exhibition: The Montmajour herbarium
For the 2nd year running, Montmajour Abbey invites you to discover the exhibition “L’herbier de Montmajour”, featuring plates from one of the herbariums kept at the Arles media library. This herbarium, comprising over 1,600 plates, was created by local collectors in the 19th century.
After a presentation of plates from the herbarium created by botanist Louis Jacquemin last year, this year we invite you to discover a selection of plates from Jean Mathieu Artaud’s herbarium.
The exhibition is organized in partnership with the Arles mediatheque and presented as part of the “Rendez-vous aux jardins” event.
