From translation to transmutation, Ovid’s *Metamorphoses* continue to be interpreted in light of what each era finds in them. Two writers present their translations here: one, Marie Cosnay, offers her translation of Ovid’s text; the other, Luvan, who translates Nina McLaughlin’s reimagining—a reimagined Ovid titled *Sirène, debout*, in which the women who were victims of the ancient games of gods and men rise up, speak out, and turn the tables. These “Metamorphoses” squared and cubed are part of the 43rd Literary Translation Conference, titled “Magic, Wonders, and Phantasmagoria.”
