In partnership with the Abbaye de Montmajour-Arles (Monuments Nationaux), the Association Francophonie Action et Médiation (and its international network) invites you on a journey from Africa to the Americas and the Caribbean, in search of the traces of worlds gone before, traces rediscovered through dance, orality or writing.

In “a mysterious, sensual dance”, choreographer Chantal Loial explores our view of difference through the story of the Hottentot Venus, the woman (from the Khoisan people/South Africa) who was “enslaved and exhibited in Europe for her atypical physique”!

In partnership with the Académie de Guyane and the City of Kourou, you’ll also discover the writing and illustration work of our little compatriots from Kourou, CE2 students, who have been “working” with fabulist/poet Pierre Appolinaire Stephenson on the theme “Tous poètes en Guyane” (“All poets in French Guiana”).
Their texts will be read in the cloister by young readers, and diplomas will be awarded to each of them and to the little readers. and with the participation of FAM members/readers and the President of FAM-CALAF Argentina-Uruguay, Alex Dionesalvi.
