Live Magazine des Rencontres was born eight years ago in the Arles nightlife. The idea was to try out an ephemeral experience “99% real”: a group of photographers, artists and journalists who, despite their stage fright, told what they couldn’t tell anywhere else, thus creating, for one evening, a living newspaper. Once again this summer, under the stars in the Théâtre Antique, pages will be turned, columns will be written, from one subject to another, from an intimate story to a global investigation, to celebrate the power of images. A night full of emotion. A not-to-be-missed Rencontres event. All set to music: each story has its own rhythm, tempo, melody, fantasy and soul.

The Gratte Ciel company is developing its circus work at great heights in public spaces. The environment and architecture are always the medium for artistic creation. Since setting up shop in Arles, the company has made extensive use of the city’s emblematic spaces and monuments. The Théâtre Antique, however, remains largely unexplored.
At the invitation of Rencontres d’Arles, and in dialogue with the projected images, Gratte Ciel presents aerial vignettes each evening, imbued with the company’s poetic vision of a summer’s night sky.
