Synopsis:
A run-down public housing estate in the suburbs. This is where Nara, a Gypsy, has lived for years with his mother and daughter. He recently threw out his wife, Miralda, because she was using contraceptives against his wishes. Nara makes a living by recaning chairs and committing petty thefts. Intolerant of any social constraints, he soon pulls his daughter Zorka out of school. Every evening, the Gypsies gather at the “Les Princes” café. One day, a violent brawl breaks out between Nara and some local residents. Shortly after, the police arrive to evict him from his home. Nara and his family are forced onto the road. His mother dies of exhaustion…
