Gigantic portraits of a dozen giants doomed by the climatic upheavals affecting their planet.
“After spending some time on the unlikely planet Oniri Gigantoj lacigita and being overwhelmed by what was happening there, I decided to return last year to bring back a photographic testimony. I found the Giants I wanted to photograph. Their civilization, a little ahead of our own, has been hit by the scarcity of resources, which they have abused without counting the cost, and by multiple climatic disturbances. After negotiations, bribes (water!) and the promise that they would be reproduced on earth on a scale of one, I obtained the giants’ agreement to produce this series”.
The absurd is a powerful tool for reflection, and the theatrical, poetic side of the images adds even more ambiguity and questioning to the situation of the giants, our own situation. We smile and worry.
