Juliette Binoche, actress and director, and Pascale Berthelot, concert pianist, improviser, and composer, have come together on stage at Le Méjan at the invitation of Sandrine Chenivesse, author of *La forteresse des âmes mortes*, to improvise around this theme:
“Death is the side of life that is not turned toward us,” writes Rainer Maria Rilke. “We must strive to achieve the greatest possible awareness of our existence, which is at home in both boundless realms and draws inexhaustible nourishment from both.”
Juliette’s embodied voice draws sensation from the very hem of words to weave the hologram of this experiential narrative. Pascale’s sonic wanderings embrace the body of the piano like a mapped mountain range.
