To celebrate European Heritage Days, the Arles Antique Departmental Museum invites you to explore its collections, go behind the scenes, and learn about the professions involved in heritage conservation in a whole new way.
Throughout the weekend, enjoy self-guided tours of the permanent collections and a rich program of guided tours, workshops, and events: the special exhibition “The Passage of Venus,” the “The Museum in 15 Masterpieces” tour, workshops on restoration and mosaics, a tour of the conservation-restoration workshop, tours of the storage areas, and a “MuséoTchatche” discussion focused on mosaics.
An introductory bookbinding workshop, offered as a special event by the “Au livre ouvert” workshop in Aubagne, rounds out the program.

– Family workshop “The Restorer’s Techniques”: at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Duration: 1 hour. Free, by reservation.
– From the Construction Site to the Mosaic Conservation and Restoration Workshop: at 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Ages 12 and up. Duration: 1 hour. Free, by reservation.
– Behind-the-scenes museum tours with experts: at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Open to all ages, ages 8 and up. Duration: 30 min. Free, by reservation.
– Family workshop “Mosaic Artist for a Day”: at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. For children ages 8–12 accompanied by an adult. Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Free, by reservation.
