This day will be marked in particular by Thomas Joubert’s return to the Arles Arena. The Arles-born matador will step back into the amphitheater’s sand to support a cause that is particularly close to his heart, as he is the founder of A.S.S.P.A.
Joining him will be several bullfighters: Andy Younes (Arles), Carlos Olsina (Béziers), Solal (Nîmes), and Lisares, a student at the Arles Bullfighting School.
Cattle breeders from the Arles region are also joining this initiative by providing the young bulls that will be fought during the afternoon. The Jalabert Frères, Pagès-Mailhan, La Golosina, and Fernay y sus Hijas ranches will be represented. A becerro from Gallon Frères will round out the program.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to the A.S.S.P.A., an association dedicated to promoting sports and health in the Pays d’Arles region.
At the end of the festival, the arena gates will be opened free of charge to the public to watch the “tienta” (test run) of a cow from Jalabert Frères by the youngest students of the Arles Bullfighting School. A final event dedicated to solidarity, passion for bullfighting, and passing on the tradition.
