A series of photographs that capture the artists blowing in jazz, whose sound
sound particularly thrills the photographer.
Known under the pseudonym “FreEza Photography”, Isabelle Mansuy first made a name for herself with her travel photography, particularly in Asia.
She then combined her passion for photography with that for music, and live stage photography became her specialty.
She has photographed many national and international artists on the jazz scene, as well as reggae, blues…
Her portraits of artists perfectly illustrate her interest in the human being, as seen in Asian philosophy: a whole that brings together body, mind and spirit.
body, mind and soul. Her practice of energetic arts, particularly Qi Gong, influences her vision, and she focuses on the observation of bodily movement and the importance of breath, which she places at the heart of her photographs.
It is in the tension of her own breath, which she retains, and in her attention to the breath of the artist, initiator of her movement, that Isabelle finds the ideal moment, at the paroxysm of sound, intention and emotion. Her shots are minimally retouched.
A professional freelance artist-photographer who is regularly called upon by artists for photo shoots, she is also co-founder of the “O’Stage” collective. She has already taken part in some twenty exhibitions.
Each of her photographs can be purchased signed and numbered. Limited edition of 30.
