Witness to his sensitive relationship with place, the wooden sculptures and installations created by artist Théo Guicheron-Lopez from species whose history and provenance he knows, open up perspectives on what it means to be there. As we meander through the anthropogenic era of bitumen-black soil, he draws our attention to the way oil has replaced earth, shaping artificial landscapes that permeate our daily lives, and draws, on the remains of ancient stone, a sensory landscape to inspire a new poetics of soil.
