CHRIS VOISARD, a visual artist and photographer, is exhibiting his latest works at La Galerie Betty Arles, a new and very welcoming venue.
Born in Dakar, after studying sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Basel, Switzerland, and then philosophy at the University of Paris-Nanterre, Chris Voisard became an assistant to Bernhard Luginbühl and Jean Tinguely. He exhibited his sculptures at FIAC and throughout Europe.
After extensive travels in the Middle East and Africa over several years, he settled in Arles. A retrospective of 54 of his works, “Meditations on the Landscape,” was presented at the Sainte-Anne Chapel in Arles.
Chris Voisard then moved his studio to Griffeuille, which he named Les Passeurs de Rêves, and created La Galerie à Ciel Ouvert: a display of contemporary works on 63 picture rails installed at the base of a building. He also created murals with the residents of Griffeuille. The Les Passeurs de Rêves / La Galerie à Ciel Ouvert project was recognized by Marseille-Provence 2013.
He created the pictorial set design and painted on-site for the production of the play Le Grand Ordinaire by the Compagnie de l’Ambre. Some of his works have also been selected for theatrical productions.
