Synopsis:
London, 1884. Surgeon Frederick Treves discovers a completely disfigured and deformed man who has become a fairground attraction. Impressed by such deformities, Dr. Treves buys “the monster,” John Merrick, saving him from the violence of his owner and the daily humiliation of being put on display. Contrary to his prejudices, he quickly discovers in Merrick a damaged, intelligent, and highly sensitive man.
