Open-air exhibition:
historical photographs of Arles, displayed in their original settings, on view starting September 18 at historic monuments. The exhibition will then expand throughout the fall to other parts of the city and the surrounding villages of Arles.
These photographs, dating from 1845 to 1945, come from the photographic collections of the Arles Media Library, the municipal archives, the Museon Arlaten, the Camargue Museum, the Ministry of Culture, and private postcard collections.
A mobile app, to be developed by students at the Arles IUT, will allow users, starting in June 2027, to locate these old photographs—as well as others—in public spaces.
Photographs located within historic monuments will be viewable during the monuments’ opening hours, as listed here: https://arles.fr/decouvrir/le-patrimoine/
