Norigae
During this workshop, 11- to 14-year-olds will make norigae, traditional pendants for the Korean hanbok, which can also be used as keychains or decorative items. To bring these accessories to life, participants will experiment with two techniques: maedup, the ancient art of Korean ornamental knotting, where each movement transforms a simple thread into a symbolic and colorful creation, as well as sewing. To do this, participants learn to handle a needle and thread while letting their imagination guide their choices of shapes, colors, and fabric combinations.
