Racines et Entités exposition de sculptures

An artist, storyteller, and poet—that is the vision Michel Pichot evokes. A storyteller whose tales are rooted in the depths of ancient times, when man was a sage and animals were gods. A magician, he carves roots into the shapes that take form beneath his fingers, transforming inert matter into objects that, for our ancestors, would have been closer to the sacred than to what we today call works of art.
A woodcarver based in the Camargue, Michel Pichot reveals the beauty of olive tree roots and Mediterranean woods. He transforms wood often considered waste into unique works that celebrate the strength, memory, and resilience of nature.
Inspired by these sculptures, Pasqui R exhibits linocuts featuring the sacred alligator and several preserved birds found in the marshes as well as in the ponds of our beautiful and wild Camargue.
