If you’re going to San Francisco… It’s easy to fall under the spell of this city, with its houses winding their way up the hills and its fog that rolls in without warning. The exceptional setting, its steep streets, the splendid backdrop of the bay spanned by two mist-shrouded bridges, the people—so welcoming—and the friendly atmosphere on the streets… During their stay, the two friends also explore the great national parks, California’s peaceful seaside towns, and the 17-Mile Drive—a stunning scenic route lined with cypress trees that winds along the coast. Finally, the city of Santa Barbara with its Spanish influence, surrounded by mountains and vineyards, followed by Palm Springs with its ’50s vibe set against a backdrop of palm trees, desert landscapes, and designer villas. Overlooking the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles proves just as fascinating, with its futuristic architecture and the colorful alleys of Venice Beach. It is all of these atmospheres and luminous landscapes that inspired the “Papiers découpés” art project.
