Every 3 years, usually on May 1, the Queen of Arles is elected. A true ambassador for the town, to be elected she must meet several criteria: speak Provençal, know the town’s habits and customs perfectly, know how to dress and do her own hair… In 2024, Amélie Laugier will be succeeded by a new young lady and the 26th reign.
The 26th Queen of Arles will be chosen on May 1, 2027.
At 12:30 p.m., the people of Arles will learn the name of their 25th Queen. Elected from among the four contenders, the new Queen of Arles, who will succeed Amélie Laugier, will appear on the balcony of the Hôtel de Ville, accompanied by her bridesmaids, to greet the gardians, costumed Arlesians and citizens gathered in jubilation on the Place de la République.
