The exhibition brings together an exceptional collection of previously unseen drawings on loan from the “Archives Patrimoine Monsieur Christian Lacroix” association, as well as 69 haute couture drawings deposited with the museum between 2015 and 2024.
A journey from childhood to consecrated creation
The exhibition retraces the artist’s graphic career, from the first drawings preserved from childhood to sketches created for haute couture and ready-to-wear, via his illustrations: the bull, the history of fashion, stage costumes and more.
Drawing, an essential gesture
For Christian Lacroix, drawing is not a stage but a language. Pencil, ink, gouache, collage or graphic palette: “blackening a sheet of paper” is a daily, spontaneous practice that extends to painting and ceramics.
