Synopsis: Susanna arrives in Paris from Armenia with her 26-year-old daughter, Narine, hoping to find treatment for her aggressive cancer. Anne welcomes them. Narine survives for five months. Susanna and Anne share neither language nor culture; yet they become like sisters. In Armenian, “It’s okay” is “Tsavet tanem,” literally “I take your pain.”
