Mandy Lerouge is a French singer and producer who fell in love with Argentina. She is currently working on research and creation around the repertoire of Atahualpa Yupanqui and Pablo del Cerro, alias Antoinette Pépin. A key figure in Argentina’s nueva canción, Yupanqui played a decisive role and paved the way for a number of singers (Victor Jara, Mercedes Sosa…) who accompanied social movements and resistance to Latin American dictatorships.
For this original concert, specially conceived for the Assises de la traduction, Mandy Lerouge invites us to delve not only into this investigation, but also into other works born under duress, in Argentina and beyond. She will be accompanied on guitar by Diego Trosman.
