This unique event will surprise you with the wealth of artistic expressions on display.
The Arles Ceramics Market was created in 2023. It is open to all professional ceramists, upon application;
There will be 31 ceramists on the Place Wilson this year.
Most of them come from the southern half of France, to showcase their unique skills. Also on hand will be Les Cousins, a ceramic supplies retailer.
The theme of this third edition is Ceramics and Architecture, to echo the Heritage Days held on the same date.
The conference on “Ceramics and Architecture” will take place the day before, on September 20, between 6 and 7:30 p.m. in the Fayrouz auditorium, on the 3rd floor of the Espace Van Gogh.
From September 1 to 30, an exhibition on this theme will be displayed in the windows of partner retailers in the Place Wilson district. A nod to the people of Arles, even those just passing through. The association’s ceramists lend themselves to the game, with surprising and eclectic creations!
Always guided by this desire to share, you can take part in a modeling workshop for children and adults, linked to the theme. Come and experiment with clay modelling in a convivial setting. You’ll be accompanied by an artisan.
Keep your eyes open during the turning demonstration and let yourself be taken in by the gestures of this artisan skill.
For this third edition, the focus is on stoneware creations. From figurative, burlesque sculptures such as those by Stéphanie Van Poppel, to colorfully rhythmic everyday objects such as those turned by Isabelle Dufour. Contrasting with the pure, Mingei-style forms of the PeakStone pottery workshop.
Like a resonance with the living world around us, you can lose yourself in the details of modeled porcelain by the NaïNaï workshop or the sigillata pots by Brice Miller. Let yourself be guided by the birds and flowers decorating Amélie Niel’s earthenware tableware.
Encounter the delicacy of Sylvie Hooghe’s porcelain jewelry, the Bauhaus spirit and design of The Way of dot vases, or the modern airbrushed decorations of Cil céramique.
