La tour de Constance

Guillaume Vincent offers six young actors and actresses from TNB’s École Supérieure d’art dramatique a hand-sewn play. The story takes place in Aigues-Mortes, in the shadow of the Tour de Constance, which served as a prison for Protestant women after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. Six characters work at the luxury Hôtel de la Tour. As the seasons change and guests arrive and depart, we share in the lives of the play’s three duos. They dream of promotion or elsewhere, between love stories and the demands of the clientele… These duos, which are made as quickly as they are unmade, give off an obvious impression of marivaudage. Guillaume Vincent scrutinizes a shifting, changing desire with infinite delicacy, and magnifies an already virtuoso cast.
