The Marais du Vigueirat is home to some fifteen species of chiropteran (bat). On the occasion of Bat Night, to be held this year between August 30 and 31, young and old alike are invited to learn more about the mysterious and discreet world of the world’s only flying mammal.
Program:
– 5:30-6:30 pm: entertainment for children
– 6.30pm-7pm: Quiz on bats for the general public
– 7pm: picnic
– 8pm: Commented tour of the Man and Nature circuit (1.5km) in a sunset atmosphere. Listen to the different sounds of the night. – Attempt to observe crepuscular mammals.
– 9:30 pm: Set up a batbox and listening equipment on the Bergerie tower to discover the bat species around us.
– 10:30 pm / 11 pm: Return to the reception and end of the tour.
