Pierre and Monique Vadon decided to open the mas to visitors in search of an encounter with the authenticity of the Camargue and its nature, through horse riding and accommodation in a gîte and a chambre d’hôte. This Camargue farmhouse has always practised organic farming and the sheep have been replaced by the breeding of Camargue bulls. The walk takes place on this exceptional private territory, including natural landscapes such as the sansouïre, the marsh and the Étang de Vaccarès which attracts more than 80,000 birds per year, including the famous pink flamingos.
The Mas also offers horse riding lessons, and an introduction to handling Camargue cattle for experienced riders. The ride is a 2 hour activity where we welcome the customers in a personalized way by distributing the horses according to their experience, then we go to look for the horses in the meadow, brush them, saddle them… The visit is commented by the instructor who explains the rice cultivation, the typical breeding of bulls and horses, the wild landscapes full of birds. At the end of the tour, each horse is unsaddled, rewarded and returned to the meadow.
