\n\u201cSouth of Tr\u00e9bon: Transportation Routes That Bear Witness to the Neighborhood\u2019s History\u201d
\nSaturday, October 17 at 2:30 p.m., duration: 1 hour
\nFrom the Lions\u2019 Bridge to Place Lamartine, from the river port to the train station, discover how the neighborhood\u2019s development reflects its history and surroundings. Water management, transportation, shops\u2026 the architecture of southern Tr\u00e9bon has undergone constant change before taking on its current form. It still faces the Rh\u00f4ne and Avenue Stalingrad, the neighborhood\u2019s main thoroughfare, which was once the only route to the northern part of the department.

\nOne hundred years ago, the Tr\u00e9bon neighborhood was still a stretch of wheat fields. Today, it is the most populous neighborhood in Arles. Amid villas, suburban housing developments, and high-rise apartment buildings, architects drew on their imagination\u2014and plenty of reinforced concrete\u2014to quickly house a growing population in the aftermath of World War II. As we stroll past some 500 homes, let\u2019s explore 20th-century architecture and housing in Arles.

\n\u201cFrom East to West: The Architecture of Northern Tr\u00e9bon\u201d
\nSunday, October 18, at 11:30 a.m.
\nAfter World War II, the agricultural town of Tr\u00e9bon gradually evolved into an industrial hub. Housing had to be provided for these increasingly numerous workers, along with the necessary facilities and services: thus, this tour will take us from the Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Lamour Gymnasium to the Perdiguier High School, passing by the Institute of Control and Automation, the Guy Berthier Swimming Pool, and the DDE. This is an opportunity to discover different aspects of the neighborhood from the 1950s to the present day.
