\n\u201cMy work revolves around three main themes: first, the problem of truth; second, the problem of memory; and, finally, the problem of the materiality of the image.\u201d Joan Fontcuberta<\/p>\n

TRAUMA is a project in visual archaeology in which Joan Fontcuberta explores what happens when a photograph loses its soul. What happens when a photograph is no longer oriented toward a reality outside the image itself, and all that remains is the substrate, the residue\u2014barely a few stains from light-sensitive chemicals?
