Our Reneissen\u00e7o association for Proven\u00e7al culture was founded in 1980, and is chaired by Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Fernay. This year, we’re presenting Arl\u00e9sienne Fashion, a work of research and analysis based around workshops on the specific periods of 1880-1885-1889.
\nYoung girls, young women with a passion for fashion, guided by our elders, present the results of their work. You’ll have the pleasure of admiring the evolution of femininity. The ever-coquettish Arlesienne has made no restrictions, with sleeves bursting at the seams with lace, braid and trimmings, with bubbled or gathered effects. Skirts became straighter, and were called “dresses \u00e0 tournures” or by a much less poetic name
\n“faux cul” dresses. And hairstyles, all in harmony around the face.
\nMadame Ginoux is said to have been painted by Vincent Van Gogh, l’arl\u00e9sienne au long ruban. The handlebars float freely over the shoulder or down the back.<\/p>\n
