De natura rerum invites you to Sant Jordi, the festival of independent bookshops. It’s also World Book and Copyright Day. A day to highlight the important role played by independent bookshops in the cultural, social and political life of a city like ours.
\nFor 28 years, thanks to you, the Verbes Association has been successfully developing (with over 700 booksellers) a demanding grassroots movement: the F\u00eate de la librairie par les libraires ind\u00e9pendants, the French version of the Catalan Sant Jordi, as part of World Book and Copyright Day.
\nOn this occasion, De natura rerum invites you to a meeting [excursus] with R\u00e9gis Meyran around his latest book, La racialisation du monde (L’aube, January 2026), at 6pm.
\nThis year’s bookshop festival is an opportunity to offer you, in addition to a pretty flower, a book on the history of the poet-librarian Umberto Saba and his bookshop founded in Trieste in the first half of the 20th century. To publish the history of a bookshop in the city of Trieste is to reveal the epicenter it was for the influence of intellectual, social, political and literary life.
